If you want to make a fan of NBC’s “Community” laugh out loud, walk up to them and say, “brown Jamie Lee Curtis,” or, “Pop! Pop!” and without warning, that person will convulse into giggles.
This is the effect the sophomore sitcom has on its small but mighty audience. Pulling in just fewer than 4 million viewers weekly, “Community” isn’t TV’s highest-rated comedy, but it is one of the medium’s most beloved. This is one of the reasons Peacock executives recently announced the show will be back for a third season.
“If I relied on ratings alone to tell me how the show is resonating, I would’ve killed myself a long time ago,” says Dan Harmon, the creator, head writer and executive producer behind the underrated show about a group of community college misfits.

The earthy 26-year-old dance instructor from Milwaukee and the breathy 16-year-old high school student from Mountain House, Calif., were booted from the Fox talent competition Thursday after “Idol” host Ryan Seacrest revealed they garnered the fewest viewer votes following their respective attempts Wednesday of Elton John’s “I’m Still Standing” and “Daniel.”
Joining the duo in the bottom three was smiley 26-year-old singer-songwriter Paul McDonald from Nashville, Tenn., who sang “Rocket Man.”
Adedapo and Megia were sent packing after the judges overturned viewers’ votes last week to save quirky 20-year-old film camp counselor Casey Abrams. H

The fiery 20-year-old film camp counselor from Idyllwild, Calif., who stomped through Marvin Gaye’s “I Heard It Through the Grapevine” on Wednesday, was revealed to have received the fewest viewer votes on Thursday, but the judges unanimously decided to save Abrams in the middle of his last-chance performance of Ray Charles’ “I Don’t Need No Doctor.”

Chris Tye and Robin Swoboda are the new anchor team for WKYC Channel 3′s 7p.m. newscast.
She arrived in Northeast Ohio 25 years ago to become the co-anchor of a Cleveland television station’s newscast. That was for WJW Channel 8.
At 7 Monday evening, Robin Swoboda again becomes the co-anchor of a Cleveland station’s newscast. This is for WKYC Channel 3. She and Chris Tye are preparing for their debut as the team at the helm of Channel 3′s “News 7.”

Performing live for the first time, American Idol’s Top 12 boys hit the stage.
In addition to being the big debut for the Top 12 boys, tonight also marked Steven and Jennifer’s first time as part of the live show.
To celebrate the occasion, Ryan handed Steven the Idol sign most famous for censoring profanities and told him to use it when he “bleeped” up.
After a moment of friendly banter, the contestants lined up to take the stage.
