Obama set to appear on one of Oprah’s final shows

Well, she might not publically endorse him in the 2012 election, but that doesn’t mean Oprah doesn’t want President Obama to appear on her show. In fact, Lady O plans to sit down with the president and the first lady for a taping of her talk show April 27, with an air date set for May 2. The interview will make up one of the final episodes of the 25-year-old show.

Back in 2007, Oprah famously endorsed then-Sena. Obama’s run for president on the Larry King show. It was the first time she supported a presidential candidate, and she continued to campaign for Obama throughout his run, even showing up at his election night victory rally in Chicago’s Grant Park.

Sound of music takes over TV dramas

IT will be one of the oddest things you’ll see on TV next week – Hugh Laurie playing Dr Gregory House, with top hat and striped cane, bursting into a Broadway routine.

Singing Get Happy as made famous by Judy Garland in the 1950 film Summer Stock, Laurie warbles through a Busby Berkeley-style sequence while waltzing with his medical drama series co-star Lisa Edelstein (Cuddy).

The number was choreographed by So You Think You Can Dance US judge Mia Michaels and is one of several odd-ball musical sequences planned for upcoming drama and comedy series.

In the tradition of the notable Buffy the Vampire Slayer musical episode from 2001 and most likely inspired by the success of the music-heavy show Glee the House one-off will be followed in the US late next week with an entire musical episode of medical drama Grey’s Anatomy.
