TERRE HAUTE — Join the fun at the Vigo County Public Library at 2 p.m. Monday when storyteller Katherine Kidd presents “Katherine Kidd’s Characters” where she shares her versions of some of the classic and not-so-classic folktales.

Kidd enjoys spending time with children, reading and telling stories. She especially enjoys playing character parts when she visits. She may be Fractured Fairy Godmother dressed in her tutu, high top sneakers and brightly colored socks. She could be Mother Nature wearing a flowered apron and telling nature stories. She might also be Bug Lady, wearing a flower pot on her head and telling insect stories.

No matter which character Katherine is portraying, you are in for a fun time as she acts out the stories that she is telling. She may even ask for an audience member to lend her a hand. The hour-long program is geared toward families and sponsored by the Friends of the Vigo County Public Library.

Kidd’s program is only one of many offered at the library as part of the Summer Reading Program for Children. For a complete list of events,
