Zac Efron was seen leaving the Staples Center after watching the LA Lakers game in Los Angeles, California. It seems like Zac is a big Lakers fan, hes often spotted at their games.

He broke out his WeSC Jeans again for the day and gave his Diesels a break. I find with Zac, he goes through jeans phases, so Im sure we can expect to have more sightings of him in WeSC soon. For once, I can actually say, this is an outfit of his Im not fond of. I usually love his style, but this time around, nothing really goes. A summa cum laude graduate of The Hartt School where he was a protégé and friend of Hartford jazz great Jackie McLean, the coolly intellectual saxophone savant has industriously focused on creating his own musical voice.

Whether as the consummate, first-call sideman with such premier groups as The Mingus Big Band and the Tom Harrell Quintet, or with his own hard-swinging, soulful bands and acclaimed recordings, Escoffery has focused on expressing his art, not in exploring his biography.

Now, however, the 37-year-old artist is having occasion to reflect deeply upon none other than himself, concentrating on his own life’s dramatic story line thanks to two immediately upcoming events that put the focus directly on him and his own personal biography.

First, Escoffery, who grew up in New Haven, returns to the Elm City today to be honored by his alma mater, ACES Educational Center for the Arts, a prestigious New Haven high school magnet program and one of the early formative influences that helped send him on his path to success as a jazz artist.

Eva Mendes was spotted leaving the hair salon in Los Feliz, California. She wore a pair of Current/Elliott Stiletto Skinny Jeans in Rosewood. I always thought the wash was amazing ever since I saw these a month back. I like that they are more of a burnt pink than bright. I would have thought that the Stiletto fit would have been more cropped on Eva than they are here. She is one that looks a lot taller than what she actually is.

I put on one of my old pairs of Current/Elliott jeans and I have to say that stretch in jeans has come such a long way the past couple of years.

The substance — consisting of beef trimmings, often from connective tissue — has been around for some time, said Marka Riddle, Wylie Independent School District food service director.

Used as a popular filler in ground beef, the trimmings have the fat removed through separation in a centrifuge, and the resulting meat-slush often treated with ammonium hydroxide to kill any bacteria.

The filler was first disparagingly called “pink slime” by Gerald Zirnstein, a Food Safety and Inspection Service microbiologist, in 2002.

Like many, Riddle wasn’t familiar with it until recent news reports generated public outcry about the additive.

“This was news to me, just like it was to everyone else,” Riddle said, adding that she expected the recent furor, which has prompted plant closures and discussion among multiple state governors, to “blow over” in time.

Marcie Prachyl, clinical nutrition manager at Hendrick Health System, said she, too, was largely unconcerned about the filler, calling it by its proper name when asked about it.

U.S. drone strikes killed five “suspects” and one civilian in Yemen. A first attack targeted a vehicle reported to contain people connected to Al Qaeda. However an innocent bystander was also killed as well as five others wounded. A second attack destroyed a building that was empty.

As far as Yemen is concerned drone attacks seem to be increasing rather than being scaled back as claimed by some. There was another attack in Pakistan as well.
